My So-Called Internet Based Life
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Listening to Jane’s Addiction today. I had forgotten how much I do love Perry Farrell, even if he is a complete freak. I am so excited that I can play CDs at work, even though I am in complete NPR withdrawal because my radio is not currently working. I guess the writer from “Ang3ls in Am3rica” was on Fresh Air last night (which airs at 9:30 am the next day here) and I would have loved to hear it. Oh well, I guess I will listen at home tonight.

Did anyone else watch that on Sunday? It was so amazingly brilliant. Naomi and I cried during the breakup scene, which was transposed between the two couples and just heart wrenching. The whole movie (thus far) is incredibly beautiful and moving – I can’t wait to see the second half this Sunday.

Job is very interesting so far – I am the second closer for the Department of HUD’s repos and subsequent sales in the state of Nebraska. The files are interesting and I have the final word about deadlines and stuff, which for some reason makes me really happy. I like being able to tell people what to do, and if they have to close they have no choice but to listen to me. Bwahaha, I am your closer. Bow to me.

Ahem.

Also some interesting stuff about working here in general – the other HUD closer (I’ll call her DC) is going to be difficult to work with, I think. I’ve had a lot of compliments on my work thus far, which is nice, and one of the other closers said I could probably have her job in a couple of months if I wanted it. I’m not so sure about that, but it’s flattering nonetheless.

Yesterday it snowed like crazy shit here… It took me an hour and a half to get home. I can typically get there in about 20 minutes, it was crazy. More because people are stupid than because the roads were really that awful – don’t run red lights, people. You can’t slam on your brakes to squeeze your way through an intersection when there are five inches of snow on the ground, your brakes won’t work and you will go careening into the car in front of you. Thanks. I’m lucky I made it home alive. But Justin T1mberlake and I had a singalong on the way home, so that helped pass the time.

And last night I got to talk to Erika online, which was awesome, and then my sister and I read MacBeth and laughed about silliness, and I talked to Curt on the phone a bunch and then online, and that was nice too. But I was bummed because I didn’t get to see him – this is only the third night since we started dating that we HAVEN’T seen each other. But then again, I was in no mood to jump back in the car and he hates hates hates the snow, so we stayed in our respective places and just talked.

Oooh, time for lunch. Yum, lunch.
