My So-Called Internet Based Life
String cheese incident

Have you ever noticed that string cheese is vaguely sexual? Along the lines of popsicles and lollipops and that sort of thing. And we give these to children!

Ahem. I think my cold is affecting my brain.

So on Sunday it snowed and freezing rained, and then snowed some more. Blegh. Yesterday I spent the entire day at the boyfriend’s apartment, snowed in. Which wasn’t so bad, don’t get me wrong, but I did miss a day of work, which is annoying. Finally shoveled out my car about 8:30 last night and went home. And it’s supposed to snow more starting tomorrow, yippee. Like we need any more FREAKING SNOW. I hate winter. Because of the joy of snow in the past couple of weeks, the boyfriend and I have been talking about moving to North Carolina. Apparently it doesn’t snow there.

Weekend was good – Friday we went to the opera (La Boheme, which was incredibly beautiful) and then to M’s for dinner & drinks with Mitch, Naomi, and Maneesh. Mitch’s car got stuck in a drift, which was fine because by the time we were done at M’s everyone was drunk (I think we waited a LEETLE too long to get food) and so we took a cab home.

Saturday woke up with this disgusting cold/sinus infection/whatever it is, so I spent the day lounging around and napping. That night we went to see “L0st in Tr@nslation” which I thought was amazing, and then home because of the freezing rain and watched some HBO crap and went to bed.

Sunday got up and the cars were all glazed with ice. Whee. Met my sister for breakfast, then back to his apartment to get ready for people to come over during the Super Bowl. That was fun since their dishwasher has been broken for a week so there were dishes EVERYWHERE. But we got them washed and watched “Queer Eye” for a bit. OH! And I got to talk to Michelle on the phone, and she is as fabulous over the airwaves (cellular waves?) as she is online. Watched the Super Bowl with zach and Adam, was totally nonplussed by ms. Jackson’s & mr. Timberlake’s little incident, and went to bed at 11:30. Whee.

Monday was half cool and half sucked – I got up at 5:45 to go out to my car, realized there was no freaking way I was getting it out, called in sick and then slept until 9:30. That rocked. We spent the rest of the day just hanging out and playing online, which was nice. I think a day of total non-productivity is good once in awhile.

Back at work today, and back on the South Beach bandwagon. We’ll see if I can get it to work this time.
