Apartment Search

Happy Monday, everyone. Hopefully everyone had a good and productive weekend…I really wish that the work week was four days and every weekend was three days. That would make me happy. Too bad I have tons of stuff to do anyway, so I kind of NEED a five day workweek, but I also need much more sleep and cuddling in bed with the boyfriend time. Whatever shall I do? Sigh.

Whoever runs the weather has a very sick sense of humor. Yesterday, after my yoga class (which kicked my ass AGAIN) I was driving around wearing my yoga pants and a sleeveless shirt. It was 55 degrees. Today, it’s snowing like a mofo. What the hell?

We saw an apartment on Friday evening (50th & California) – it was a cute two bedroom that was a little more than we want to pay but still in budget. The only problem is that the bedrooms are REALLY small. But the living/dining room are totally open and the place has a great vibe to it – we could live there and be happy, I think. We’re looking at another place tonight (38th & Cuming) which is the top floor of an old Victorian house and might be really cool but might be a total hole. That neighborhood is really hit or miss. I can’t wait to see it though – we drove by yesterday and it has a TURRET room! I really would be a princess living in that place. Hee.

We also saw two places on Sunday morning – our appointment was at 10, but we had no problem making it as I was up demanding pancakes at 8.30 am. I have the most patient boyfriend ever. Anyway. And they were both huge and cheap, but just felt… weird. The neighborhood isn’t bad, but the building felt odd. The vibes were bad, and I just couldn’t see myself living there. Which is a shame because we are talking a HUGE two bedroom place for $450, but I just couldn’t do it.

Other than the apartment search, very little is going on. We have settled into a routine and are pretty much just hanging out every evening, talking and daydreaming about the apartment. We will find a place, we just have to… if only the process of looking wasn’t so obnoxious.
