Officially saw the weirdest apartment in the world yesterday. Actually, probably not, I’m sure there are some truly freaky apartments out there. But this one was up there.

So it’s the top floor of this GIANT house, and by top floor I mean pretty much an attic. In order to access the place, you walk up three flights of the narrowest stairs I have seen in a long time – I had a hard time believing these people could have any furniture in the place at all. Plus they had all these weird curves and turns, it was insane. So we get into the apartment and it is very cool looking, but there are slopes to all of the ceilings EVERYWHERE and many places where there was no more than a foot of flat wall space off the ground before it started sloping.

I would have had so many bruises on my head if we had moved into that place. But it has a horrible and tiny kitchen and no shower (only a bath) and so there is no way. Plus we would have had to hire movers, because I’m sure we would quickly find ourselves friendless if we asked them to move us into that apartment. Oh well, the search continues.

Curt talked to another guy yesterday about a duplex – it’s within budget, two bedrooms, gas stove, and those three little magic words every woman longs to hear: claw foot bathtub. The only downside is that we would have to pay heat there and I don’t know how much it would be – I don’t want our utility bills to be insane, you know? I think we’re going to see it on Thursday. My only worry is that the guy said that the bedrooms are “kind of small”. What does that mean? All of this apartment stuff is so subjective.

I’m obsessed. But I just really want the place that’s right for us. Must have faith that we’ll find it.

Man, I had better NEVER buy a house if I have this much trouble finding a rental. Sheesh.

In other news, I talked to Dave last night – he’s so odd. I am so incredibly glad we’re not together anymore. And I realized how really, really wonderful curt is. Lucky girl, that’s me.
