2004-05-21 9:28 a.m. Headline in the local paper yesterday: “Turkey parts used as source of energy”. God bless the Midwest, only here would it be front page business news that someone is recycling turkey guts into automobile fuel. Though with gas here over $2 a gallon (god, I can’t imagine what it is in any major urban area) maybe this kind of thing is about to become normal. Take that, bitch. Yeah, stubborn and stupid wallpaper paste, I’m talking to you here. Here is the process we have gone through in the past three days: -Peel off vinyl part of wallpaper. -Score remaining backing/other two layers of wallpaper with the round thing with the spikey wheels in it. -Spray the hell out of it with Dif. -Wait 15 minutes. -Spray the hell out of it with Dif again. -Wait again. -Scrape the wallpaper off the walls. -Spray with Dif again (is there a pattern emerging here?) -Scrub remaining paste off the wall. -Wash wall with soap and water. My hands are a wreck. Can anyone guess why? At least it’s gone and we spackled last night, so it’s ready to sand and paint. Whee. Tonight, we go out seeking a couch. Dah dum.
