2004-07-23 3:03 p.m. So very busy. It is really strange not to have a lot of time to screw around at work, but I must say it is kind of a relief not to have to look busy all the time when you have nothing to do. Whee. I had a most excellent birthday. My boyfriend is fabulous, I wish there were more of him so I could send one to everyone I know that is losing faith in dating. He kissed me goodbye at 7:30 am and when I rolled out of bed at 9:00, there was a card with a gift certificate for an hour-long massage. Aaaaaah! I can’t wait to redeem it. And then I got my haircut, and then I had lunch with chad (and talked to Michelle on the phone for a second), and then we went shopping for kitchen stuff. It was a fabulous afternoon. Curt and I had dinner at this beautiful restaurant and I got free crème brulee because it was my birthday! Birthdays are the best, I’m telling you. And then we met up with Naomi and Manesh and had lots of champagne (yay!) and a shot of tequila (ugh. Not necessary.) and it was lots of fun, and everyone kept wishing me a happy birthday. I was very hung over the next day. It was so worth it though. And so I made it through my hangover yesterday, and we made awesome dinner last night (orange bell peppers, scallions & baby bellas on tortillas. Sprinkle with olive oil. Put on feta & chevre. Bake for 10 minutes until the cheese is ookey and yummy. Devour.) and also some asparagus, and I made myself raspberry birthday cake, so we had that too. And went to bed very very very very early. That was nice too. Today then there have been closings, and I had lunch with Dawn, one of my old coworkers at the Shitty Job I Recently Left. She is getting totally fed up too and is working on her real estate license so she can get out of there and start over too. I mean really, it can’t be just me if there are other that are just as upset about how they treat people there. I am excited too that she is going into real estate, that means more business for meee! That way they can’t lay me off here ‘cause they’ll need me to do their stuff. Ha! I am in a good mood today, that is nice. I think it helps that it’s Friday – and we are going to hang out in Naomi’s backyard and have some wine. It is really beautiful out too, it thundered and stuff yesterday and overnight so the heatwave broke and it’s about 70 and breezy and lovely. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes – I am trying to update a bit more but it’s hard being so busy. Have a great weekend!
