My So-Called Internet Based Life
Ode

Today I am realizing that it is fall. The air is cool for real, not that fake windy cool of August, and the leaves have begun to change colors and now when I take the dog for a walk my feet crunch on the ones that have come down already. Very odd.

Though I guess it makes sense, it is the middle of October. But I feel like I missed summer, with the job worries and working at Tarjay all the time and then this job and the crazy hours. Not to mention the never-ending rain. But here we are and it’s fall, which means it’ll be winter soon. Boo to that. But I get to wear my sweaters again.

An ode to my favorite office supply:

Oh, post-it notes, god bless the 3-M corporation
For making thee.
Without you, I would have even less
Of a clue
What I am doing here in this office
And what all these files are doing on my desk.

This morning was hard. This afternoon (thus far at least) has been easier – I have to remember not to plan to get too terribly much done in the morning. Which is bad, because I am much more productive in the mornings, but the phone rings non-stop and I can’t concentrate for crap. Knock on wood but it is quiet now and I am churning through my closings for tomorrow and working on stuff for next week. Yay for me.

My sister is coming home this weekend! Whoo! I haven’t seen her since she left for school late in August and it’s really strange – obviously we never saw each other when I was in college, but that was different. She was this 11 year old then and I didn’t know her at all. Now she’s like a real almost-grown-up person and we had gotten to know each other and then she left for school and it was weird. Oh well she is coming home and will be coming over for dinner on Friday so that should be interesting.

I have my paperwork from CCCS. One more baby step to actually getting this stuff paid off, instead of just floating along barely on the surface waiting for some financial disaster to come along and ruin me. It’s still weird but I’m glad I called them – they are so very nice and have been really helpful. But you have to send them your payments by money order – where do I get a money order? I’ve never had to get one before. The boyfriend said that you can get them at the post office, but really, I don’t know if I can stand in line at the post office once a month for the next couple of years to get them. The post office is one of those places that makes me want to poke my eyes out.
